Going through I answered the questions quite truthfully, and ended up with results in the health science field. I think that career is one that I am quite interested in. I think health science is a very cool field and I think I would enjoy it. I could be working and also be helping others that need the help. Just to think that if I were to work in health science, one day I could find a cure for a disease that could save a massive amount of people, I could even cure cancer. Even being something like a pediatrician interests me because I could work to help people become well. That would make me feel so great if I could do that, and even get paid for it. There are careers like doctors, scientists, and many more cool options that interest me. The career evaluation test showed me a lot of options I was kind of interested in but when I got the health science field and looked through it I really liked it. All around the field of Health science interests me in what it’s all about and even the career options included in it, it’s great because you can get paid to make people well again and even invent something to prevent many people from contracting something really bad.

I answered all of the questions and truthfully as I possibly could and then submitted it. At first I was skeptical about this test but it gave some very good insight on future decisions that I will have to make. It gave different views on career choices and also gave reasoning behind it. With that it gave me different website options to research the different careers to decide what I’m interested in and what I am not very interested in. It gave me different career options as a health researcher, doctor, vet, and many other cool options. My favorite thing about the test was that it gave you a descriptive reason behind why it put you in that field. It evaluated your test questions and grouped you accordingly. There were many different fields of options but it put me in the health science field. Looking in this test makes me want to maybe pursue some of these jobs in the future. Before taking this test I wanted to be a physical therapist or something in that field but taking this test opened my mind up to many new job options. Submitted by Yeni (9/15/2016) Career Research Reflection Before I even did the Interest Inventory, I already knew that the career I was best suited in was in Health Science. Based on the Interest Inventory that we did during class, my career clusters were Health Science, Education and Training, and Human Services. In the future, after I graduate from High School, I plan to go to the Medical Art School, in order to become a medical assistance. I understand why Health Science came up as one of my career cluster choice. I am very interested in a career towards the Health and Science cluster, and that is medical assistant. When I get out of High School I want to become a medical assistant at first and then become a pediatric later on in the future. The reason why I want to become a medical assistant is because I want to start to get the hang of working in a clinic and in the medial field. I plan to work for a couple of years as a medical assistant and then become a pediatric nurse. I love and enjoy helping people, especially children. When I researched the career, Pediatric Nurse, which I want to do later in life and after I become a medical assistant, the salary range really surprised me. It surprised me because I thought they would get payed less than $50,000, but the salary range is $48,000-$68,000 a year for pediatric nurses. Knowing that I would get payed enough to take care of my family and future bills, makes me want to work harder to accomplish what I want. Honestly, science and math is my worst subject, but I am willing to work very hard in order to be someone in life and also work in a career that I like and will enjoy for the rest of my life.
Based on the Interest Inventory we did in class the career cluster that best suits my personality, is law and public safety. Which, my career choice matches that cluster. My passion is to be a defense attorney. Nothing about this surprised me because, i know what i wanted to be. I’m a very argumentative person and i believe in fighting for what i believe in. A defense attorney is responsible for defending individuals who are charged with crimes and felonies. The skills and abilities needed for this is analysis and communication skills, and investigative skills. The skills needed fits who i am, investigate yo me is just another way of saying nosey, which i am. Proud to admit it. I do tend to analyze things and i’m a huge people person, i can make conversation for almost anyone. You also have to know when to use your emotional intelligence. From self-management, to social awareness, self-awareness and relationship management. All of them play huge factors in this career choice, although Self Management would play a major factor in this lifestyle because of the situations you may be placed in. Next will be self awareness because you have to know your limit and what you’re able to handle. Keep in mind a case can make or break you and alot are unforgettable. You will need a 4 year degree and 3 years of law school. After you will need your licenses and to pass your bar exam. Depending on how good you are the lowest you can make is 114,300 a year. A nurse plans and provides medical and nursing care to patients in a hospital. I am very interested in this career. I actually have always wanted to be a nurse or do something related to the medical field. I think this best suits my personality because I enjoy helping others as best I can and that's what you do as a nurse, help sick people. I wasn’t that much surprised when I found out this was my career cluster because I see myself doing this career in the future. Before I created my career cluster I was kind of in between becoming a nurse and doing something in marketing. I didn’t really see a lot of jobs that I was interested in doing in marketing. Although, one I did lay my eyes on was fashion or interior designer. I do like clothes and decorating things, but I think I’m best fitted for being a nurse. For me to become a nurse I have to be flexible, have effective communication, critical thinking, the desire to learn, and I would have to pay attention to detail. The education needed to become a nurse is at least one year of post-high school education, a 3 year diploma programs in nursing, and an associate's or bachelor's degree. The experience I need is to work in a field in a supervised setting and also I must pass a licenses exam. My salary for the year is $66,470. I am happy with this career and hope I can have this job in the future.
For the Career Cluster assessment, I most closely fell into category 12. Category 12 is one I would like to be because I would like to be a firefighter/EMT as a career. I love helping people, and being a part of a dedicated team, which is a big aspect of being a firefighter. In the next few months I hope to attend the Wake County Essentials school for firefighters, which wouldl give me the ability to operate on a fire scene before I attain my firefighter 1 and 2 certifications. I am also currently in an EMT class, which will help me be a more effective member of the department, as a large part of the calls that Firefighters respond to are medical. In the future, I would like to be a full member of the department who can work regular shifts, as well as volunteer. I understand the concept of emotional intelligence, which is a large aspect of being a member of a tema, as well as working with citizens within our fire district. Firefighting also requires some mental acuity, and willingness to learn. Firefighters need to memorize every piece of equipment on every truck, its location, and how it works. They also need to attend classes to train on new skills, as well as classes to maintain proficiency in other areas. Career Cluster In the future I would love to be a nurse when I’m done with school. I would want to be a nurse so I can save people lives. I would like to be a nurse because I can work in any hospital and in the military. I want to be a nurse in the military. I always wanted to be a nurse in the military since I was little. Now I will be able to accomplish my dreams. I want to be a nurse in the military for about 20 years or more. I want to study criminal justice while I’m in the military for nursing. I have chosen to be a mechanical engineer for my career. I am interested in innovations to make something better than it already is, which is what an engineer does. I also like to be outside in any way I can be so I love being on the job working on machines and working with others. I see myself in the future providing for my family every day, and being happy doing what I love with my family. I got to work today and saw my fellow coworker Sam, Sam and I talked about how much we love working on machines and collaborating with others at our job for Jarrett Bay Boat works. Some surprises I encountered were that I make more money than I thought I would! I have to go to a four year university in engineering, math, mechanics, and or physics, but I was planning to go to a university anyway. I need to be able to solve problems, listen, think, and be good at mathematics. The best part about my job is the fact that the people around me are very nice and fun to work with. My occupation is to be a court reporter. I would transcribe spoken or recorded speech into written form. Some skills/abilities needed are accuracy, good grammar skills, diligency, and to be excellent. Another thing needed is education. Career Cluster Research After doing the survey we did in class, I was categorized under education and training with the most points. After being pointed in that direction I chose to look into the job of a social worker. I never considered doing that before now but after looking into it, I feel as if it’d be a good fit for me. I really enjoy helping people, and I like to look after kids as well. So after doing my research I decided that being a child and family social worker could be something I’d be very interested in. There is a lot of different types of social work you can do, but I feel like a child and family one would be the best fit for me personally. A lot of the information I found on the job varied depending on the particular work you chose to do as well as how much training and education you had. With that being said, the salary range yearly for social workers in North Carolina was $27,500-$72,500. Also, the job description sounded very interesting to me, because I’m a good listener and I’m pretty good at giving advice as well. Since we began with the class , I already had in mind what it was that I want to do when I grow . The interest inventory did help with learning about other potential career interests that I didn’t know I had . None the less , my results was that my interests pointed to working in performing arts , mainly in becoming a musician and/or an actor . I can definitely assure that I am interested in these career options . There really wasn’t all that much that surprised me about the research I did on them . I had expected there there wouldn’t be much information on things like salaries , but I had hoped there would be more about training and education . It is very possibe to have a college degree in music and acting , and whether or not I will pursue to obtain a degree , I do not know . But I do know that I am willing to do whatever it takes to reach my dreams . From a young age , I’ve always looked up to musicians and actors like Michael Jackson , Beyonce , Justin Bieber , Rihanna , Leonardo Dicaprio , Jennifer Lawrence , and so many more . Their work have inspired me and have influenced not only my desires , but also my personality and way of being . Career Cluster Research The job that I wanted was not listed but I found one job that was alright, the job that I wanted was to be a therapist and I had answer some questions that were about helping and it gave me the wrong one well the one that I was going for. But the one that said was best for me was Liberian but I want to be a therapist, the reason I wanted to be a therapist was because I had experienced someone who had gone through things that they need help with and don’t have anyone that they can talk to and I’m usually the one that is there for them and helps them out and my family members that I should be a therapist because I’m really good at it and I’m not that much of a judger when it comes to helping people, knowing that they are going through a rough time, I take time and let them tell me their story and if they ask for my opinion I let them know but I usually let them know that everything they do in their life and the decisions they take determined their future, people come and leave in their life’s, why? I think my occupation that I chose as a sales specialist does reflect on my personality. I am confident and I have a good speaking voice, and I can work with people well. I would not say I am too outgoing, but I can if I have to be, usually I choose to let other people speak before me though. I am very interested in being a sales specialist as well because they make good money. If you have a college degree and 10+ years of experience, most big companies will gladly hire you with a $150,000 yearly salary. Ways I would know this is because my uncle was a sales manager and he could retire at the age of 50, and that also reflects on research I did online for my career cluster worksheet. What surprised me the most was the wide range of money you could make though. For example, for the same job that earns someone $200,000 a year, opening salaries start at $30,000. It is a very large occupation with a lot of competition. Before I found out about being a sales specialist, I thought a good career that suited me would either be making my own company or becoming a graphic designer. I wanted to make my own company because there is a high risk high reward, and my dad also made his own company which was pretty successful. My interest in a career choice is to be a makeup artist. I mean my main choice is to be a physical therapist, and I really want to stick with that but if thing don’t go as planned I would be a makeup artist. I’m not a 100% sure if my back up choice is going to be a makeup artist because I just feel like it wouldn’t be a stable income. I just feel like I have a real and true passion to become a physical therapist because the healings, and miraculous things that happen with the patients. As I researched about becoming a makeup artist the lowest they make is 50k and the highest they make is 90k+. I can see myself as a law enforcement officer when I’m older. I can see myself protecting and property when I’m older. I already have the psychical appearance to be an officer. I’m in shape and will be able to do the tasks that come along with being an officer. I would have to work on communication skills if I wanted to be an excellent cop. my personality would fit in pretty well because you have to be strict but not to strict that you give a ticket to everyone that does something wrong. The only thing I didn’t really realize is ho much they make and what they have to do. You just need a high school diploma to become an officer but you have to go through two year as a students. You have to learn crime, public protection, and crime presentation in the first two year before even coming an officer. The starting out price is $19,000-36,000 a year but several years you can get as much as 36,000 and up. I was surprised on how little they made and honestly they should make more for what they do. They do not deserve enough respect. I can see myself doing this in the future for protecting this country and serving the people. The career cluster that interest me the most is law, public safety, corrections, and security. I am interested in being a lawyer. Specifically a copyright lawyer. My dad is a Major for the Wake County Sheriff's Office so I think that is why I have always been interested in law. The only downside to being a lawyer is you have to go law school, which is not easy but with my work ethic it won’t be too much of a challenge. I would help protect businesses and people’s new ideas, inventions, and titles. I want to do this because I have always wanted to be a lawyer and I am interested in copyrighting. People and businesses have new inventions and ideas every day, so there is a lot of opportunities in America. America’s economy is currently based on intellectual property law. Also lawyers get paid very well. Copyright lawyers are one of the highest paid lawyers. The average is $130,000 a year. I think I would be a great lawyer because I have a creative way of thinking, which is critical to be a lawyer. You also have to have knowledge of trademark, copyright, patent, trade secret, and licensing laws. These laws can be easily studied and learned. I have a great work ethic so this would be no problem. In a job of TV/Technology I will succeed in the future because of the way it works. You learn and practice skills that prepare us for post high school jobs. All you need is some experience in broadcasting/film. For this job you will need a high school diploma. I found the salary pretty high which is a good thing. It is between 45 and 60 thousand dollars a year for mostly beginners depending on the program you work for. Personally I enjoy filming and editing videos because it gives me something to do. I also find it very fun and entertaining because of the way it starts out. I really enjoy starting a project and seeing how it develops all the way to the end. This attitude will help me in the future because of the way I like to do everything and finish everything. I will be able to get a really good job In the future and I will make a lot more money. The money for this job is very good because it lets me earn a lot of cash and do something very fun that is enjoyable. It would be better than some job that isn’t even enjoyable and just boring. Career cluster research I have decided I want to be in the animal system as my career as a vetenarian because I like helping out animals that are hurt lost or have no shelter and food to eat. I don’t like to see animals struggling because it’s heart breaking. To be a vetenerian requires you to have a good heart for animals you do need to have a certificate and have gone to a two year college or med school. If you decide to go into the animal system you’ll be happy about how much you make which was$124,610but is now raised to$141,680. I’ve always liked animals me and my mom used to take in abandoned pets and take care of them (mainly cats) but I’ve always had a passion for animals. Me and my mom would go places and see animals that are lost and have no shelter and pick them up take them home and feed them then keep them for a little while and then take them to the vet and hope they find a good home and get adopted. The most surprising thing that I came across was that the veterinarian salary has been raised by 12% over a 10 year span and there is over 70,300 jobs listed in the animal system. In the future I see myself in the entrepreneur/ real estate field. My people skills have gotten better as I work on a daily and interact with many people. It’s relative to the field I plan to expand in and I’m really great at explaining things and elaborating more on certain topics. I really love houses and I feel as they all have a meaning or should eventually gain one with the families. I enjoy looking at big old homes and going inside of them and actually knowing the history of it from when it was built. What really surprised me was the salary of realtors and people in the realtor industry, it made me want to actually expand my career. I feel as I could bring a lot of money home as I am very experienced in persuading people to buy things, explaining what’s so good about the item. The thought of going to college stressed me out and I wasn’t sure if I really wanted to go to college and when I learned that a high school diploma wasn’t necessary for this career. Career cluster essay When I was researching what I was interested in I got a different result of what I was hoping for. I am interested in becoming a psychiatrist's, which is in the health science cluster, but researching about myself more I got put into the human services cluster. I wasn’t surprised because I work better with people and not that well with science. I didn’t like my result which isn’t quite a surprise, but health science was my second top choice, I liked that because then that meant I could still have a chance in the career cluster. Psychiatry may be in the health science cluster, but it still has to deal with social interactions to be good, so I personally think that I still be good in that field. I want to pursue being a psychiatrists because I like working with people and helping out as much as I can. I think I’m emotionally intelligent enough for this job because I work well with people, I can help people solve problems/ help solve problems, and I am a good listener. I have researched about this job so much, barely anything surprised me. I really like this job and I think I can do a very good job because I am a really good listener, I’m aware of what people are thinking, I can also help with a lot of things/ problems. I’m interested in people’s problems and how we can solve them. I think I’m socially and emotionally aware of people’s problems. I have dealt with problems like psychiatrists have dealt/ I know what they deal with. Career Cluster Essay The career cluster that I looked into was Health Science. After looking into that I chose a career as a Neonatal Surgeon/Pediatric Surgeon. I’ve always wanted to work with children but I also wanted to be a doctor, so why not do both at the same time. I’ve known for a while that I wanted to work with children, but only recently have I wanted to be a doctor. I know a lot about children and how to take care of then, what they need, daily necessities, and I’ve always wanted a career based on that. While researching I found somethings surprising. I know to be a doctor it takes a lot if schooling and time, effort and money. What I hadn’t realized was how much schooling and time it took. Obviously you have to have a proper and full education if you want to work in the medical field.
Over the past 2 years I’ve actually been able to work with a child. While working with this child if come to understand children and know that every child is different and does and feel’s different things and shows their emotions in different ways. I love working with kids especially babies. I’ve been able to see a number of people raise a number of children and I’ve learned many things from them and I feel that with my hands on experience and a sort of watching experience I have an adequate amount of knowledge about kids.

In the future I can see myself pursuing the career of being a social services worker. A social services worker is the ability to provide help and social assistance for individuals, families, and communities in need. I think that this would be a good career option for me because of my social skills. Also because of my love for children and my desire to help people in need. I also think that this would be a good career cluster for me because I have done research and know my different options for that field. Although I was very surprised by how many different branches that being a social worker can fall into. While I was researching I learned that you need a master or doctors degree in public administration and social services and experience with field time. You may also need a BSW for some if the different field options. I also know that the salary ranges from 27000 to 98000 depending on the level of education you have and you rank in the work place. The people skills and abilities you need are to have the ability to be empathetic, self-awareness, and organization, able to be an active listener and the ability to cooperate in difficult situations. I personally also think that you need to be able to relate with the people that you are helping and I think that based on my past I would be able to relate to all different types of people. I want to be an accountant when i grow up. I ended up doing a career cluster to figure out if that was really what i wanted to do. I ended up landing in the category of business, management and administration, and law public safety, security. I wasn't surprised to see what i had landed in. I love crime shows and i love numbers too. I wanted to be a an accountant because i like dealing with numbers. I like how they work and what you can do with it, two i like handling money giving people what they need, and i love helping people that can’t necessarily do it themselves. I did run into some surprises when i looked it up. The salary was more than i expected and training that you needed was a little bit of a surprise. Like c you have to have communication skills which i didn’t really know too well. Which isn’t a big deal because i like talking and communicating, especially with other people. My personality is fit for this job and my attitude is fit for this job also. If i ever come across an emotional issue with a customer or even with myself and how i'm feeling that day. Career Essay One of the career clusters I landed in was arts, audio, and visual technology; the career from that that I have chosen is cosmetology (makeup and hairstyling). I thought I was going to land on a career cluster that I hadn’t thought of but I actually wasn’t surprised. I want to pursue cosmetology because not only do I find it a very interesting art that expresses peoples own personality but it’s also a way to boost confidence. I think this a good career for me because I love experimenting with makeup, I do it all the time, I spend some of my free time researching new ideas and looking at youtube tutorial videos. The strengths that I have that I believe makes me well suited for the job are creativity, stamina, dexterity and good technical skills. I also find myself to be good with customers which is important because communication between the makeup/hairstyle artist and the customer is very important to satisfy the customer’s needs. When it comes down to makeup it’s really important to know the customers likes and dislikes. When I researched the job I was surprised by the salary, it isn’t very much, only an average of 40,000 a year. Another surprise is that there isn’t very much education needed, only a high school diploma and a license that can be achieved after only as little as 8 months to 2 years which still isn’t a lot. I have decided to be a game developer for a number of reasons. For one I love working on computers, they have interested me for a very long time. It also requires a wide knowledge and understanding of computer games. I have loved playing computer games for a very long time and would be delighted to work on them in my profession. It requires a lot of creativity to be a game developer and also great teamwork skills. I feel like those are one of the more easy requirements you can have and feel like it easy to be successful in those two requirements. Most have a bachelor’s degree in this profession but some have and associates degree. You need to have a portfolio or working demo, good talent and creativity, and the ability to code in programming languages. Its annual salary range averages out by how many games and how popular they are with the public. But in 2013 the average amount of money received in the game developing profession is around 83,060 dollars a year. This information affects me personally because I play on video games a lot and think I have a good knowledge or understanding of the concept of creating video games. I really like technology in general because it interests me by having to be so precise with everything you do. ReplyDeleteWhen I took my Career evaluation test in the beginning of this school year it said that I was meant to be in the health science field. I answered all of the questions and truthfully as I possibly could and then submitted it. At first I was skeptical about this test but it gave some very good insight on future decisions that I will have to make. It gave different views on career choices and also gave reasoning behind it. With that it gave me different website options to research the different careers to decide what I’m interested in and what I am not very interested in. It gave me different career options as a health researcher, doctor, vet, and many other cool options. My favorite thing about the test was that it gave you a descriptive reason behind why it put you in that field. It evaluated your test questions and grouped you accordingly. There were many different fields of options but it put me in the health science field. Looking in this test makes me want to maybe pursue some of these jobs in the future. Before taking this test I wanted to be a physical therapist or something in that field but taking this test opened my mind up to many new job options. It would also be fun to discuss my results with my family to see what they think going into my future work.

Before I even did the Interest Inventory, I already knew that the career I was best suited in was in Health Science. Based on the Interest Inventory that we did during class, my career clusters were Health Science, Education and Training, and Human Services. In the future, after I graduate from High School, I plan to go to the Medical Art School, in order to become a medical assistance. I understand why Health Science came up as one of my career cluster choice. I am very interested in a career towards the Health and Science cluster, and that is medical assistant. When I get out of High School I want to become a medical assistant at first and then become a pediatric later on in the future. The reason why I want to become a medical assistant is because I want to start to get the hang of working in a clinic and in the medial field. I plan to work for a couple of years as a medical assistant and then become a pediatric nurse. I love and enjoy helping people, especially children. When I researched the career, Pediatric Nurse, which I want to do later in life and after I become a medical assistant, the salary range really surprised me. It surprised me because I thought they would get payed less than $50,000, but the salary range is $48,000-$68,000 a year for pediatric nurses. Knowing that I would get payed enough to take care of my family and future bills, makes me want to work harder to accomplish what I want. Honestly, science and math is my worst subject, but I am willing to work very hard in order to be someone in life and also work in a career that I like and will enjoy for the rest of my life.

ReplyDeleteBased on the Interest Inventory we did in class the career cluster that best suits my personality, is law and public safety. Which, my career choice matches that cluster. My passion is to be a defense attorney. Nothing about this surprised me because, i know what i wanted to be. I’m a very argumentative person and i believe in fighting for what i believe in. A defense attorney is responsible for defending individuals who are charged with crimes and felonies. The skills and abilities needed for this is analysis and communication skills, and investigative skills. The skills needed fits who i am, investigate yo me is just another way of saying nosey, which i am. Proud to admit it. I do tend to analyze things and i’m a huge people person, i can make conversation for almost anyone. You also have to know when to use your emotional intelligence. From self-management, to social awareness, self-awareness and relationship management. All of them play huge factors in this career choice, although Self Management would play a major factor in this lifestyle because of the situations you may be placed in. Next will be self awareness because you have to know your limit and what you’re able to handle. Keep in mind a case can make or break you and alot are unforgettable. You will need a 4 year degree and 3 years of law school. After you will need your licenses and to pass your bar exam. Depending on how good you are the lowest you can make is 114,300 a year. ReplyDeleteFrom the information I gained from the interest inventory, I learned I’m most suited to be a nurse. A nurse plans and provides medical and nursing care to patients in a hospital. I am very interested in this career. I actually have always wanted to be a nurse or do something related to the medical field. I think this best suits my personality because I enjoy helping others as best I can and that's what you do as a nurse, help sick people. I wasn’t that much surprised when I found out this was my career cluster because I see myself doing this career in the future. Before I created my career cluster I was kind of in between becoming a nurse and doing something in marketing. I didn’t really see a lot of jobs that I was interested in doing in marketing. Although, one I did lay my eyes on was fashion or interior designer. I do like clothes and decorating things, but I think I’m best fitted for being a nurse. For me to become a nurse I have to be flexible, have effective communication, critical thinking, the desire to learn, and I would have to pay attention to detail. The education needed to become a nurse is at least one year of post-high school education, a 3 year diploma programs in nursing, and an associate's or bachelor's degree. The experience I need is to work in a field in a supervised setting and also I must pass a licenses exam. My salary for the year is $66,470. I am happy with this career and hope I can have this job in the future.

ReplyDeletecategory 12. Category 12 is one I would like to be because I would like to be a firefighter/EMT as a career. I love helping
people, and being a part of a dedicated team, which is a big aspect of being a firefighter. In the next few months I hope to attend the Wake County Essentials school for firefighters, which wouldl give me the ability to operate on a fire scene before I attain my firefighter 1 and 2 certifications. I am also currently in an EMT class, which will help me be a more effective member of
the department, as a large part of the calls that Firefighters respond to are medical. In the future, I would like to be a full member of the department who can work regular shifts, as well as volunteer. I understand the concept of emotional intelligence, which is a large aspect of being a member of a tema, as well as working with citizens within our fire district. Firefighting also requires some mental acuity, and willingness to learn.
Firefighters need to memorize every piece of equipment on every
truck, its location, and how it works. They also need to attend classes to train on new skills, as well as classes to maintain proficiency in other areas. I am a good candidate for this job
because I possess all of these qualities, as well as a strong drive to constantly train and keep learning.

I would like to be a nurse because I can work in any hospital and in the military. I want to be a nurse in the military. I always wanted to be a nurse in the military since I was little. Now I will be able to accomplish my dreams. I want to be a nurse in the military for about 20 years or more. I want to study criminal justice while I’m in the military for nursing. I want to be a nurse and a detective at the same time while I’m in the military. It would want to study being a nurse and detective while I’m going to school in the military. I like saving and protecting other people lives. I like saving other people lives that matter because everybody lives matter. That’s why I want to be a nurse and a detective. I have chosen to be a mechanical engineer for my career. I am interested in innovations to make something better than it already is, which is what an engineer does. I also like to be outside in any way I can be so I love being on the job working on machines and working with others. I see myself in the future providing for my family every day, and being happy doing what I love with my family. I got to work today and saw my fellow coworker Sam, Sam and I talked about how much we love working on machines and collaborating with others at our job for Jarrett Bay Boat works. Some surprises I encountered were that I make more money than I thought I would! I have to go to a four year university in engineering, math, mechanics, and or physics, but I was planning to go to a university anyway. I need to be able to solve problems, listen, think, and be good at mathematics. The best part about my job is the fact that the people around me are very nice and fun to work with. Some strengths I bring to work is my ability to work with others, solve problems, my emotional intelligence, be able to help put on any task needed, and generate ideas. My personality and interest fit this job because I love being outside, performing hands on tasks, working with others, coming up with innovations, and working near home. I love my job and what I do.

My occupation is to be a court reporter. I would transcribe spoken or recorded speech into written form. Some skills/abilities needed are accuracy, good grammar skills, diligency, and to be excellent. Another thing needed is education. Some are a degree level, degree field, licensure/certification, and key skills. Experience and training needed are to attend a training program and to meet requirements. The salary range would be $62,040 each month.

ReplyDeleteAfter doing the survey we did in class, I was categorized under education and training with the most points. After being pointed in that direction I chose to look into the job of a social worker. I never considered doing that before now but after looking into it, I feel as if it’d be a good fit for me. I really enjoy helping people, and I like to look after kids as well. So after doing my research I decided that being a child and family social worker could be something I’d be very interested in.
There is a lot of different types of social work you can do, but I feel like a child and family one would be the best fit for me personally. A lot of the information I found on the job varied depending on the particular work you chose to do as well as how much training and education you had. With that being said, the salary range yearly for social workers in North Carolina was $27,500-$72,500. Also, the job description sounded very interesting to me, because I’m a good listener and I’m pretty good at giving advice as well. The only setback I have about this job, is that some of the jobs I’ll be assigned will be very sad situations and hard for the families as well as me. But overall I feel as though, the rewards of helping children and their families improve their home life will be far more rewarding than anything else.

Since we began with the class , I already had in mind what it was that I want to do when I grow . The interest inventory did help with learning about other potential career interests that I didn’t know I had . None the less , my results was that my interests pointed to working in performing arts , mainly in becoming a musician and/or an actor .
ReplyDeleteI can definitely assure that I am interested in these career options . There really wasn’t all that much that surprised me about the research I did on them . I had expected there there wouldn’t be much information on things like salaries , but I had hoped there would be more about training and education . It is very possibe to have a college degree in music and acting , and whether or not I will pursue to obtain a degree , I do not know . But I do know that I am willing to do whatever it takes to reach my dreams .
From a young age , I’ve always looked up to musicians and actors like Michael Jackson , Beyonce , Justin Bieber , Rihanna , Leonardo Dicaprio , Jennifer Lawrence , and so many more . Their work have inspired me and have influenced not only my desires , but also my personality and way of being . It may be a little difficult to see that at first , but eventually people can see that that’s very true .
I hope to continue learning what else I can do with these dreams . I look forward to learning about other options that at the moment are at my reach . Maybe at this moment I can’t perform at concerts and world tours , or be in a major-budget movie and win an Oscar . But I want to make the best of what I have now . Even if it’s just being in a school play or singing a song in front of my class , I’ll take it . I want to make the most of this class and enjoy it the most that I can , because it won’t last forever . But hopefully that things I learn here will last for a lifetime .

ReplyDeleteThe job that I wanted was not listed but I found one job that was alright, the job that I wanted was to be a therapist and I had answer some questions that were about helping and it gave me the wrong one well the one that I was going for. But the one that said was best for me was Liberian but I want to be a therapist, the reason I wanted to be a therapist was because I had experienced someone who had gone through things that they need help with and don’t have anyone that they can talk to and I’m usually the one that is there for them and helps them out and my family members that I should be a therapist because I’m really good at it and I’m not that much of a judger when it comes to helping people, knowing that they are going through a rough time, I take time and let them tell me their story and if they ask for my opinion I let them know but I usually let them know that everything they do in their life and the decisions they take determined their future, people come and leave in their life’s, why? Because some people are good and some are bad and when people leave its because they were no good to you and you learn a lesson that later on in your life you will use to determine the people that enter your life and your decisions

I think my occupation that I chose as a sales specialist does reflect on my personality. I am confident and I have a good speaking voice, and I can work with people well. I would not say I am too outgoing, but I can if I have to be, usually I choose to let other people speak before me though. I am very interested in being a sales specialist as well because they make good money. If you have a college degree and 10+ years of experience, most big companies will gladly hire you with a $150,000 yearly salary. Ways I would know this is because my uncle was a sales manager and he could retire at the age of 50, and that also reflects on research I did online for my career cluster worksheet. What surprised me the most was the wide range of money you could make though. For example, for the same job that earns someone $200,000 a year, opening salaries start at $30,000. It is a very large occupation with a lot of competition. Before I found out about being a sales specialist, I thought a good career that suited me would either be making my own company or becoming a graphic designer. I wanted to make my own company because there is a high risk high reward, and my dad also made his own company which was pretty successful. I was thinking about becoming a designer because I’m already pretty good at it because I do it a lot when I’m at home bored.

My interest in a career choice is to be a makeup artist. I mean my main choice is to be a physical therapist, and I really want to stick with that but if thing don’t go as planned I would be a makeup artist. I’m not a 100% sure if my back up choice is going to be a makeup artist because I just feel like it wouldn’t be a stable income.

I can see myself as a law enforcement officer when I’m older. I can see myself protecting and property when I’m older. I already have the psychical appearance to be an officer. I’m in shape and will be able to do the tasks that come along with being an officer. I would have to work on communication skills if I wanted to be an excellent cop. my personality would fit in pretty well because you have to be strict but not to strict that you give a ticket to everyone that does something wrong. The only thing I didn’t really realize is ho much they make and what they have to do. You just need a high school diploma to become an officer but you have to go through two year as a students. You have to learn crime, public protection, and crime presentation in the first two year before even coming an officer. The starting out price is $19,000-36,000 a year but several years you can get as much as 36,000 and up. I was surprised on how little they made and honestly they should make more for what they do. They do not deserve enough respect. I can see myself doing this in the future for protecting this country and serving the people. This is a great way to give back to the country and earn a lot of respect. I can honestly seeing myself do this and being very successful and trying to be a major or something very high in the ranks.

The career cluster that interest me the most is law, public safety, corrections, and security. I am interested in being a lawyer. Specifically a copyright lawyer. My dad is a Major for the Wake County Sheriff's Office so I think that is why I have always been interested in law. The only downside to being a lawyer is you have to go law school, which is not easy but with my work ethic it won’t be too much of a challenge. I would help protect businesses and people’s new ideas, inventions, and titles. I want to do this because I have always wanted to be a lawyer and I am interested in copyrighting. People and businesses have new inventions and ideas every day, so there is a lot of opportunities in America. America’s economy is currently based on intellectual property law. Also lawyers get paid very well. Copyright lawyers are one of the highest paid lawyers. The average is $130,000 a year. I think I would be a great lawyer because I have a creative way of thinking, which is critical to be a lawyer. You also have to have knowledge of trademark, copyright, patent, trade secret, and licensing laws. These laws can be easily studied and learned. I have a great work ethic so this would be no problem. I have a passion for what I do, no matter what, any kind of lawyer needs passion so for this reason I think I would be a great lawyer.

In a job of TV/Technology I will succeed in the future because of the way it works. You learn and practice skills that prepare us for post high school jobs. All you need is some experience in broadcasting/film. For this job you will need a high school diploma. I found the salary pretty high which is a good thing. It is between 45 and 60 thousand dollars a year for mostly beginners depending on the program you work for. Personally I enjoy filming and editing videos because it gives me something to do. I also find it very fun and entertaining because of the way it starts out. I really enjoy starting a project and seeing how it develops all the way to the end. This attitude will help me in the future because of the way I like to do everything and finish everything. I will be able to get a really good job In the future and I will make a lot more money. The money for this job is very good because it lets me earn a lot of cash and do something very fun that is enjoyable. It would be better than some job that isn’t even enjoyable and just boring. There is probably a lot of smaller categories that I am interested in learning about that are involved in the TV and technology field. I am not sure what I would do yet but it will most likely involve filming or editing of some sort because that is what I enjoy doing.

ReplyDeleteI have decided I want to be in the animal system as my career as a vetenarian because I like helping out animals that are hurt lost or have no shelter and food to eat. I don’t like to see animals struggling because it’s heart breaking.
To be a vetenerian requires you to have a good heart for animals you do need to have a certificate and have gone to a two year college or med school.
If you decide to go into the animal system you’ll be happy about how much you make which was$124,610but is now raised to$141,680.
I’ve always liked animals me and my mom used to take in abandoned pets and take care of them (mainly cats) but I’ve always had a passion for animals. Me and my mom would go places and see animals that are lost and have no shelter and pick them up take them home and feed them then keep them for a little while and then take them to the vet and hope they find a good home and get adopted.
The most surprising thing that I came across was that the veterinarian salary has been raised by 12% over a 10 year span and there is over 70,300 jobs listed in the animal system.

In the future I see myself in the entrepreneur/ real estate field. My people skills have gotten better as I work on a daily and interact with many people. It’s relative to the field I plan to expand in and I’m really great at explaining things and elaborating more on certain topics. I really love houses and I feel as they all have a meaning or should eventually gain one with the families. I enjoy looking at big old homes and going inside of them and actually knowing the history of it from when it was built. What really surprised me was the salary of realtors and people in the realtor industry, it made me want to actually expand my career. I feel as I could bring a lot of money home as I am very experienced in persuading people to buy things, explaining what’s so good about the item. The thought of going to college stressed me out and I wasn’t sure if I really wanted to go to college and when I learned that a high school diploma wasn’t necessary for this career. So I decided that when I turn 18 and I have graduated high school, I am going to pursue my passion and go take the test to certify for my license and hopefully pass it my first time I do it. I love the fact that you dress up and casual because that’s usually how I dress and it fits my personality so well.

ReplyDeleteWhen I was researching what I was interested in I got a different result of what I was hoping for. I am interested in becoming a psychiatrist's, which is in the health science cluster, but researching about myself more I got put into the human services cluster. I wasn’t surprised because I work better with people and not that well with science. I didn’t like my result which isn’t quite a surprise, but health science was my second top choice, I liked that because then that meant I could still have a chance in the career cluster. Psychiatry may be in the health science cluster, but it still has to deal with social interactions to be good, so I personally think that I still be good in that field. I want to pursue being a psychiatrists because I like working with people and helping out as much as I can. I think I’m emotionally intelligent enough for this job because I work well with people, I can help people solve problems/ help solve problems, and I am a good listener. I have researched about this job so much, barely anything surprised me. I really like this job and I think I can do a very good job because I am a really good listener, I’m aware of what people are thinking, I can also help with a lot of things/ problems. I’m interested in people’s problems and how we can solve them. I think I’m socially and emotionally aware of people’s problems. I have dealt with problems like psychiatrists have dealt/ I know what they deal with. I think I’m really well suited for this career because I can try to relate I can empathize for people and I could sympathize. What might be a bad thing I’m my career is that I’m very emotional. This trait could be a bad thing because I could get off topic and just ruin the sessions.

Career Cluster Essay
ReplyDeleteThe career cluster that I looked into was Health Science. After looking into that I chose a career as a Neonatal Surgeon/Pediatric Surgeon. I’ve always wanted to work with children but I also wanted to be a doctor, so why not do both at the same time. I’ve known for a while that I wanted to work with children, but only recently have I wanted to be a doctor. I know a lot about children and how to take care of then, what they need, daily necessities, and I’ve always wanted a career based on that. While researching I found somethings surprising. I know to be a doctor it takes a lot if schooling and time, effort and money. What I hadn’t realized was how much schooling and time it took. Obviously you have to have a proper and full education if you want to work in the medical field.
Over the past 2 years I’ve actually been able to work with a child. While working with this child if come to understand children and know that every child is different and does and feel’s different things and shows their emotions in different ways. I love working with kids especially babies. I’ve been able to see a number of people raise a number of children and I’ve learned many things from them and I feel that with my hands on experience and a sort of watching experience I have an adequate amount of knowledge about kids.
As far as being a doctor is concerned I want to be able to help people, but with my experience with children and babies I think that a career in pediatrics would be perfect for me.

In the future I can see myself pursuing the career of being a social services worker. A social services worker is the ability to provide help and social assistance for individuals, families, and communities in need. I think that this would be a good career option for me because of my social skills. Also because of my love for children and my desire to help people in need. I also think that this would be a good career cluster for me because I have done research and know my different options for that field. Although I was very surprised by how many different branches that being a social worker can fall into. While I was researching I learned that you need a master or doctors degree in public administration and social services and experience with field time. You may also need a BSW for some if the different field options. I also know that the salary ranges from 27000 to 98000 depending on the level of education you have and you rank in the work place. The people skills and abilities you need are to have the ability to be empathetic, self-awareness, and organization, able to be an active listener and the ability to cooperate in difficult situations. I personally also think that you need to be able to relate with the people that you are helping and I think that based on my past I would be able to relate to all different types of people. In conclusion I think that this would be a good fit for me because of my knowledge and ability for the job.

I want to be an accountant when i grow up. I ended up doing a career cluster to figure out if that was really what i wanted to do. I ended up landing in the category of business, management and administration, and law public safety, security. I wasn't surprised to see what i had landed in. I love crime shows and i love numbers too. I wanted to be a an accountant because i like dealing with numbers. I like how they work and what you can do with it, two i like handling money giving people what they need, and i love helping people that can’t necessarily do it themselves. I did run into some surprises when i looked it up. The salary was more than i expected and training that you needed was a little bit of a surprise. Like c you have to have communication skills which i didn’t really know too well. Which isn’t a big deal because i like talking and communicating, especially with other people. My personality is fit for this job and my attitude is fit for this job also. If i ever come across an emotional issue with a customer or even with myself and how i'm feeling that day. I can keep it under control because i am a very calm and collected person and that’s why i think i am the best fit for this job as an accountant

ReplyDeleteOne of the career clusters I landed in was arts, audio, and visual technology; the career from that that I have chosen is cosmetology (makeup and hairstyling). I thought I was going to land on a career cluster that I hadn’t thought of but I actually wasn’t surprised. I want to pursue cosmetology because not only do I find it a very interesting art that expresses peoples own personality but it’s also a way to boost confidence. I think this a good career for me because I love experimenting with makeup, I do it all the time, I spend some of my free time researching new ideas and looking at youtube tutorial videos. The strengths that I have that I believe makes me well suited for the job are creativity, stamina, dexterity and good technical skills. I also find myself to be good with customers which is important because communication between the makeup/hairstyle artist and the customer is very important to satisfy the customer’s needs. When it comes down to makeup it’s really important to know the customers likes and dislikes. When I researched the job I was surprised by the salary, it isn’t very much, only an average of 40,000 a year. Another surprise is that there isn’t very much education needed, only a high school diploma and a license that can be achieved after only as little as 8 months to 2 years which still isn’t a lot.

ReplyDeleteI have decided to be a game developer for a number of reasons. For one I love working on computers, they have interested me for a very long time. It also requires a wide knowledge and understanding of computer games. I have loved playing computer games for a very long time and would be delighted to work on them in my profession. It requires a lot of creativity to be a game developer and also great teamwork skills. I feel like those are one of the more easy requirements you can have and feel like it easy to be successful in those two requirements. Most have a bachelor’s degree in this profession but some have and associates degree. You need to have a portfolio or working demo, good talent and creativity, and the ability to code in programming languages. Its annual salary range averages out by how many games and how popular they are with the public. But in 2013 the average amount of money received in the game developing profession is around 83,060 dollars a year. This information affects me personally because I play on video games a lot and think I have a good knowledge or understanding of the concept of creating video games. I really like technology in general because it interests me by having to be so precise with everything you do. I also like the idea of having a video game out to the public that has my own special, personal interests that I get a say in.
